These items will not be supplied to use in your classes so it’s important that you bring your own to ensure you’ll be able to complete the projects presented. Additional, optional supplies include a camera to snap shots of finished projects, paper and pen to take notes, and the tools you can’t live without, such as eyelet setting tools. We highly recommend you check each of your class descriptions to see if the teacher requests you bring additional supplies or tools to class. Yuzen Birds sponsored by Life’s Journey’s Scrapbooking Friday at 4:30 p.m. The word “Yuzen” was borrowed, only several decades ago, from the kimono-making industry in Japan. It refers to a type of dying technique used to decorate fabric from traditional, Japanese silk garments. Papers are hand-silk screened with patterns taken from these exquisite textile designs. We will be crafting with red, peach and white blossom Yuzen paper and chipboard birds and shapes to create two beautiful wall hangings/mobiles. This is a very unique class and extremely detail oriented. We will also be creating some Origami “bead” butterflies. If you are really into paper arts and hand crafting, this is the class for you. Blossoms, paints, chalk and a variety of other embellishments will also be used to complete these wonderful projects. Scrap In the Box sponsored by The Paper Element Friday at 9:50 a.m. Join us in class and you’ll create a decorative 9”x9” wooden shadow box with a window. We will be painting and covering the shadow box using unique fun papers from The Paper Element. We’ll also be using ribbon, brads, rub-ons and showing you how to create a 3 dimensional flower. This project is great to display on a desk, table or hanging on a wall. Sure to be a great gift for everyone! ACTIVITIES Plan to stay late and scrap with us at any of three fun-filled evening activities, designed to accommodate all styles of scrapbooking for attendees age 10 and older. Evening activities include the Album Party, Fun-Filled Friday Night Crop and Send-Off Saturday Night Crop. These activities give you the chance to learn new techniques, work on your own projects, socialize and more!
